Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process. A fully or partially qualified pool may be created and may be used to staff future vacancies as well as to fill identical or similar positions within Employment and Social Development Canada.

EDUCATION:

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

E1 – Experience in developing Web site content strategies and Web plans.

E2 – Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with various stakeholders.

E3 – Experience in providing strategic communications advice related to Web content.

E4 – Experience in continuous monitoring and assessing of the public Web environment.

E5 – Recent* experience applying Government of Canada Web Standards and best practices for writing for the Web.

* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last year.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:

AE1 – Experience in managing and implementing large Web projects.

AE2 – Experience participating in internal and interdepartmental Web-related committees and/or working groups.

AE3 – Experience in collecting and interpreting data using Adobe Analytics.

AE4 – Experience in user experience design (UX).

AE5 – Experience in the implementation of social media and the management of corporate social media accounts.

KNOWLEDGE:

K1 – Knowledge of the Government of Canada’s key web and digital priorities and activities related to Employment and Social Development (ESDC).

K2 – Knowledge of the GC Web Renewal Initiative and how ESDC content is related.

K3 – Knowledge of Web guidelines and principles related to the information and services provided through Canada.ca.

K4 – Knowledge of Government of Canada Web standards and policies such as Web Accessibility as well as Communications and Federal Identity.

ABILITIES:

A1 – Ability to work well as part of a team.

A2 – Ability to manage and implement Web projects involving liaison with multiple stakeholders.

A3 – Ability to communicate effectively orally.

A4 – Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

A5 – Ability to work well under pressure.

A6 – Ability to adapt to rapid technological change.
