This process will be used to staff the above mentioned position for a period of approximately 14 months. It may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions at the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada with varying linguistic profiles, security profiles, and tenures.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, he/she may be considered for acting, assignment or secondment opportunities.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group;
OR
Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are CPA, CA, CMA or CGA.
Experience:
Experience in interpreting and providing advice on the application of financial policies and their instruments.
Significant* and recent** experience in providing accounting operations services including accounts payable and a minimum of one of the following: travel, accounts receivable and year-end processing.
Experience with computerized accounting and financial reporting systems (such as FreeBalance, SAP).
*Significant is defined as two years, encompassing at least one full fiscal cycle.
** “Recent” means within the last five (5) years.
Asset Qualifications
Occupational Certification:
Professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
Experience:
Experience in working in a small department or agency.
Experience in the use of Freebalance financial system.
Experience in providing financial services in a federal government setting.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
