Certification as a Third Class Power Engineer

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience in Computer Programming

Experience operating and maintaining a high-pressure steam plant and its distribution

General knowledge of operations, maintenance and a safety practices and regulations applicable to a high pressure steam plant

Knowledge of Direct Digital Control (DDC)

Knowledge of Siemens Boiler Controls

Willing and able to travel via commercial or government transportation services when required

Willing and able to attend all training as required

Willing and able to obtain certification in First Aid

Willing and able to stand, climb, walk, lift (25kg), carry (25kg) bend, pull and push, reach and crouch in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time

Conditions of employment

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Clearance

Possession of a valid Canadian Drivers' License equivalent to a Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's license. Please refer to the Saskatchewan Driver's license Classifications at http://www.sgi.sk.ca/sgi_pub/drivers_licences/classifications/classifications.htm

Willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with safety rules

Willing and able to be available on standby and respond to emergency call-outs after normal working hours.

Willing and able to work shift work

Willing and able to work overtime on short notice

Willing and able to work for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions

Willing and able to work in uncomfortable positions and spaces

Willing and able to stand, climb, walk, lift (25kg), carry (25kg) bend, pull and push, reach and crouch in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates.

Candidates will be required to show original proof of certification. Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for further information at http://www.cicic.ca/.

You may be assessed using one or more of the following tools: standardized tests, written exams, interview, simulation exercise, reference check, and other assessment tools.

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.

Candidates will be required to pay for all assessment and travel expenses.
