Intent of the process

Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff on a determinate basis, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), security requirements and conditions of employment within the Public Health Agency of Canada. A covering letter in 3,000 words (maximum) "to demonstrate the education and experience listed in the essential and asset qualifications. 1500 words (maximum) if you are only addressing the essential qualifcations. Education :

Degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in health, social, science discipline or public administration.

Degree equivalency

Experience :

Experience in creating and maintaining networks and relationships with stakeholders from various sectors (other levels of government, non-profit organisations, health and social service network, charitable sector…).

Experience in the planning, management and delivery of projects and programs in government, parapublic or community organisations

Knowledge of public health concepts with respect to promotion and prevention.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Education :

Master’s or doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in health or any other related area.

Degree equivalency

Experience :

Experience in the delivery of grants and contributions programs or initiatives.

Experience with one or more of the following health concerns :
• Sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections
• Healthy living
• Healthy development in childhood / early childhood and support to families in a vulnerable situation
• First Nations and Inuit health
• Pre and post natal nutrition
• Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder
• Chronic disease
• Family violence
• Mental health
• Emergency measures

Information on language requirements

Knowledge :

Knowledge of the public health system and the role of the Public Health Agency of Canada , as well as the responsibilities of the federal and provincial government levels in Québec with respect to public health.

Knowledge of the life cycle of a program or project (planning, execution, performance measurement and evaluation).

Abilities :

Ability to communicate effectively in writing
