Intent of the process

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, assignment, secondment), various security requirements and various language profiles. By default and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of collective staffing processes at ISED will be shared with other government departments.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
• An acceptable combination of education and experience, including at least 3 years’ experience in support or client service.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 12 months experience using word processing, spreadsheet and email software (i.e. MS, Word, Excel and Outlook).

- A minimum of 12 months’ work/volunteer experience in providing customer/client service or support.

COMPETENCIES
- Relationship Management and Collaboration (Establishing, sustaining and fostering professional contacts to build, enhance and connect networks to deliver a high level of service and meet client needs.)

- Written Communication (ability to produce clear, concise, logical and grammatically correct written material to effectively exchange information and ideas with others)

- Focus on Quality and Details (Reflects taking pride in ensuring that tasks are completed well and on time with a focus on accuracy and quality. It is expressed in such forms as monitoring and checking work or information, insisting on clarity of roles and functions, planning, etc.)

EXPERIENCE (ASSETS)
- Experience working in a database such as entering, correcting, searching and manipulating information.

- Experience in using Government of Canada computer programs such as:
• Financial systems such as IFMS’ SAP or SFT (Salary Forecasting Tool);
• Government of Canada Shared Travel Services portal;
• Correspondence/Tracking system such as cccMercury;
• PeopleSoft or MyGCHR;
• CRM client relationship management;
• Spectra Plus.

- Experience providing financial support services, such as monitoring expenditures, making payments, and budget tracking.

- Experience in coordinating and tracking the flow of information and providing quality assurance on materials for Senior Management

- Experience in providing administrative support in either the staffing or classification areas of human resources services.

- Work or volunteer experience making travel arrangements.

- Experience in coordinating ATIP requests.

- Experience working in a contact center.

- Experience in the coordination of events such as conferences, meetings or training.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Depending on the position to staff, operational requirement could apply such as:

- Reliability security clearance.
- Secret security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.

Other information

A written exam may be administered.

Interviews will be conducted between March 21, 2018 and March 29, 2018. Please ensure you are available during this time.

Reference checks may be conducted upon appointment.
