We are currently looking for dynamic, dedicated, and innovative employees to be part of the growing team of Information Technology (IT) professionals that will directly support our future.
The Canada School of Public Service is a small organization (approx. 600 employees). Through its mandate, it plays a key role in all departments of the federal public service and provides its employees with a workplace where learning and professional development are valued.
The School's employees occupy the following buildings in the National Capital Region:
- Asticou Centre, 241 Cité-des-Jeunes Boulevard, Gatineau, QC
- LaSalle Academy, 373 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, ON
To staff three (3) indeterminate positions at the Canada School of Public Service. The positions are Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB. A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process will be established and may be used to fill similar positions with various tenures and various linguistic requirements in other organizations within the core public administration.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above.
EXPERIENCE
COMMON TO BOTH STREAMS:
Experience in analyzing, defining and documenting client requirements and recommending IT solutions.
Recent experience * providing advice and guidance on various technical and/or on IT security related subjects.
Experience in contributing to the development of technical documentation, presentations, reports, procedures, directives or guidelines.
Experience in participating in IT projects.
STREAM 1:
Recent * experience in evaluating, implementing and supporting end-user, server and/or network related software and hardware.
STREAM 2:
Recent * and significant ** experience protecting IT infrastructure.
*Recent experience is defined as experience that would normally be associated with performing these duties within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience that would normally be associated with performing these duties for twenty-four (24) or more consecutive months.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Training:
IT Security certification (CISSP, CISA, CISSP, SANS GIAC, etc.)
Having completed one or more IT security course provided by CSE's IT Learning Center.
Experience developing content or delivering IT Security Awareness and Training.
Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Government of Canada Secure Remote Access (GCSRA) related issues.
Experience supervising an IT Service Desk and/or administering a ticketing system.
Experience in application packaging for deployment through Microsoft SCCM.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

KNOWLEDGE
COMMON TO BOTH STREAMS:
Knowledge of IT industry best practices and of their applicability to the Government of Canada.
Basic knowledge of IT service management tools, principles and processes.
STREAM 1:
Knowledge of computer hardware, software and technologies including network concepts such as (Lan / Wan with TCP / IP).
STREAM 2:
Basic knowledge of the Policy on Government Security.
ABILITIES
Ability to work in a stressful environment with multiple and changing priorities.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
