Intent of the process

The immediate need is indeterminate. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various employment types and tenures (indeterminate, specified period or acting appointment, deployment, assignment, secondment).

A covering letter in 1,500 words (maximum) "The candidate’s COVER LETTER will be the primary screening tool. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet each education and essential qualification outlined in the Statement of Merit. Preference may be given a candidate who possess one or more of the asset qualifications, so be sure to include how you meet any of these qualifications in your cover letter. Resumes will be used as a secondary source to validate the education and experience described in the cover letter. EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in accounting, public administration, business administration or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as a secondary school diploma combined with a minimum of two years of experience directly related to the delivery or administration of well-defined public-directed programs or services.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in providing advice and recommendations to stakeholders on program issues.
Experience in contributing to organizational planning processes.
Experience in developing briefing and reporting material in support of policies and programs

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Aboriginal or northern issues.
Knowledge of project management principles.

ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate orally.

Ability to manage a program or project.
Ability to analyze and evaluate financial information
Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple files or tasks in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
