Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established. This process may be used to
staff similar positions with various tenures, linguistic profiles and security clearance levels, within Library and Archives Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT).

Degree equivalency

E1. Significant* and recent** experience providing recommendations for architecture & design or planning or development and implementation in the areas of architecture (any of Information Technology (IT) architecture, Business Architecture, Information Architecture or application architecture) to management (Director and above).

E2. Significant* experience in developing and presenting briefings to client, peers or senior management (Director and above).

E3. Recent** Experience in leading committees and working groups comprised of colleagues and other IT specialists to develop and negotiate architecture strategies, designs, systems, plans or standards;

E4: Experience in delivering IM or IT products or services using defined methodologies and best practices(ITIL, Agile, SCRUM, Rational, other System Development Life Cycle and other equivalent methods).

E5. Significant* experience with business requirements management (collection, analysis and governance).

NOTE:
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to these tasks and which would normally be acquired over three years.

**Recent" is defined as within approximately the last 5 years.

AEd1. Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT).

*Degree: Unless it is otherwise specified (e.g., Master’s degree), the term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.

Degree equivalency

AEd2: Valid TOGAF accreditation (The Open Group Architecture Framework) or any other certification in the field of enterprise architecture.

AE1. More than one year of work experience in more than one area of IT (e.g., IT security, enterprise architecture, databases, etc.). Please provide the dates and specify the IT areas and tasks and responsibilities related to each area.

AE2. Experience in cloud computing solution design using AWS, Azure, IBM Bluemix, Docker, DevOps or other equivalent commercial platforms.

AE3: Experience in developing and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouse or Data Lake (EDW/Data Lake).

AE4. Experience working with any provincial or Federal Government of Canada department or Agency conducting architectural assessments for projects.

AE5. Experience in using enterprise architecture to both assess and align project efforts to improve business value.

AE6. Experience with process modelling.
