A pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions with various language requirements and various security requirements within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. These positions may be staffed on a permanent or temporary basis (term, acting, assignment, secondment).

EDUCATION:
Both Streams (EN-ENG-03 & EN-ENG-04)
- Graduation with a degree from a post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Both Streams (EN-ENG-03 & EN-ENG-04)
- Eligibility for certification as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
EXPERIENCE:
Stream A only (EN-ENG-03)
- Recent and significant* experience providing a range of mechanical engineering services related to the design, construction and/or maintenance of mechanical systems.
*Recent and significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately two (2) years within the last five (5) years.
Stream B only (EN-ENG-04)
- Recent and significant** experience in leading, coordinating and reviewing the work of other engineers and/or engineering technologists.
- Recent and significant** experience in the provision of a range of mechanical engineering services related to the design, construction and/or maintenance of ships and ship systems.
**Recent and significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately three (3) years within the last five (5) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Stream A only (EN-ENG-03)
- Recent and significant* experience in design assessment of mechanic systems.
- Recent and significant* experience in the operation of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Recent and significant* experience applying Canadian and International rules and regulations pertaining to the design, construction and operation of mechanical systems.

Stream B only (EN-ENG-04)

KNOWLEDGE:
