Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar permanent and/or temporary vacancies in Edmonton, Alberta.

Pool could be used for acting appointments under exceptional circumstances to protect employee’s indeterminate status.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

NOTE:
Acceptable experience and/or training in a field relevant to positions in the group is required when the education qualification specified for the position being staffed is a secondary school diploma or approved employer alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience providing client services either in person, by phone or by email.
Experience working with computerized databases and financial systems.
Experience in providing administrative support.
Experience performing data entry, manipulation, verification or retrieval in an automated system or software such as spreadsheets or databases.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience working with First Nation clients.
Experience in dealing with internal complex issues with clients.
Experience applying administrative policies, procedures or directives.
Experience in preparing documents in Microsoft Word and presentations in PowerPoint.
Experience generating reports from statistics and/or computer-based statistical systems.

Knowledge of issues that Indigenous people face.
Knowledge of Indigenous Services Canada programs and services offered to Aboriginal people.

Ability to prepare MS Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to research information, verify data, forecast and prepare specific reports for program analysts.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet critical deadlines.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize in an environment of competing priorities.
