Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Industry Development officer supports Senior Industry Development officers by analysing data on the agriculture and agri-food sectors in the Atlantic region. The position is responsible for data analysis of the agriculture and agri-food industry and provides support to address issues impacting the competitiveness of the industry. Example activities would include: gathering market intelligence on the sector; updating and preparing sectoral profiles; developing analytical reports on issues and trends impacting the agriculture and agri-food industry; providing input on project assessments; and providing support for meetings, events and projects.

Immediate need: To staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position (English Essential, Reliability Security Clearance) in St-John’s, NL.
Anticipatory: A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at the CO-01 level with various tenures (Acting, Assignment, Deployment, Indeterminate, Secondment, Specified period) and/or linguistic profiles in Halifax, NS, Charlottetown, PEI, and Fredericton, NB.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Experience* researching and writing analytical reports related to economic, policy or business development issues.
Experience* researching, interpreting and analyzing information from a variety of sources.
Experience* developing and maintaining internal or external stakeholder relationships. (Stakeholders could include, but are not limited to, clients, suppliers, partners, colleagues.)
*For the purpose of this selection process, experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum cumulative period of one (1) year.
Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a field related to the position.
Experience developing or assessing project proposals for funding consideration.
