This process will be used to staff the following positions:
Stream 1 - Finance and Administrative Clerk (CR-04)
Stream 2 - Finance Clerk (CR-05)
Stream 3 - Administrative Specialist (CR-05)
Stream 1 - Finance and Administrative Clerk (CR-04) :
Provide Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general financial support.
Stream 2 - Finance Clerk (CR-05):
Provide guidance on the financial administration of a variety of AAFC programs. Provide accurate reporting, analysis, forecasting and accounts payable services to clients.
Stream 3 - Administrative Specialist (CR-05):
Provide guidance on the staffing process and programs to managers and employees. Provides administrative and human resources services in a number of personnel administration disciplines. Conducts research of information and prepares a variety of reports and statistics with respect to HR program activities. Implements recruitment and staffing programs. Updates and maintains various databases.

The advertised positions fall within the Integrated Services Management group in the Corporate Management Branch for the Department of Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada. The Corporate Management Branch (CMB) helps the Department achieve strategic outcomes and priorities while exercising sound stewardship of its resources. This ensures the Department can meet operational requirements and deliver quality programs and services to Canadians. These positions are part of the group that provides integrated administrative and facilities management services in support of Departmental operations for Science and Technology Branch sites.
The intent of this appointment process is to staff two (2) indeterminate positions in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and one (1) indeterminate position in Lacombe, Alberta.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment.
Depending on the position being staffed, additional qualifications may be required by the hiring manager(s). Applicants will be provided the opportunity to submit information or be assessed in relation to any additional qualifications that may be applied.

Experience in developing and modifying spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel at an *intermediate level.
*Intermediate is defined such as using If(), Sum(), Average() functions or creating pivot tables.
Stream 1 - Finance and Administrative Clerk (CR-04) and Stream 2 - Finance Clerk (CR-05):
Knowledge of accounts payable procedures.

Experience using SAP in Government of Canada.
Experience inputting and extracting information from an Integrated Financial system or Human Resource system such as SAP, People Soft, etc.
Experience providing advice and guidance to managers, employees, or external clientele in Finance or Human Resources.
Experience in providing human resources support activities in the Staffing discipline.
Experience providing administrative services in Human Resources in the Public Service or the private sector.
