Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process that will be used to staff the following positions:

STREAM 1: Senior Corporate Regulatory Compliance & Enforcement Advisor - Food and Drugs Act (FDA)
STREAM 2: Regulatory Affairs Specialist
STREAM 3: Senior Corporate Regulatory Compliance & Enforcement Advisor - Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic requirements and profiles, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and/or various tenures in various Branches in Health Canada across Canada.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION (ALL STREAMS)
ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in microbiology, chemistry, mechanical engineering, pharmacy, food science, or some other specialty related to the position.

NOTE: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAMS)
EX1. Significant* experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements.
EX2. Significant* experience in managing a project or the various stages of a program, or coordinating science-based projects.

*Significant is defined as at least 2 years.

EXPERIENCE (STREAM 1 and 3)
EX3. Experience in the design, planning, organization, implementation or evaluation of national compliance or enforcement program activities and projects.

EXPERIENCE (STREAM 2)
EX4. Experience in carrying out regulatory processes, such as, but not limited to, screening, reviewing or analyzing documents or supporting information related to regulated substances, products or activities.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION (All STREAMS)
AED. Graduation with a graduate degree in a field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (ALL STREAM)
AEX1. Experience working in a regulated or regulator environment.

EXPERIENCE (STREAM 1 AND 2)
AEX2. Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry.
AEX3. Experience in managing or coordinating IM/IT projects.
AEX4. Experience in quality assurance and the application of Good Manufacturing Practices.

EXPERIENCE (STREAM 3)
AEX5. Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated industries such as licensed dealers or medical devices.

Other information

Depending on the number of applicants, Department needs and HR plans, volume management strategies such as random selection, top-down approach, and/or cut-off scores MAY be used for the purpose of managing applications/candidates.

Reference checks may be sought.

An interview may be administered.

A written examination may be administered.

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

Candidates who have been fully assessed and found to have met all essential qualifications except official language requirements may update their second-language evaluation (SLE) results for as long as the pool is/pools are valid. N.B.: Each candidate can only undergo SLE testing one time within the context of an appointment process; any update to a candidate's linguistic profile must be as a result of subsequent SLE testing done outside of this appointment process.
