Duties

Conducting research and analyses and providing assistance, operational services and support for the delivery of real property operational and consulting services to the federal government of Canada* and to other clients. The incumbent’s primary responsibility as a participant in the real property officer trainee program is to acquire specialized knowledge and develop own skills and abilities by taking theoretical training, acquiring on-the-job training and acquiring experience in leasing, real estate, accommodation services or building/facility management to improve the Directorate’s operational, consulting and/or strategic performance. Performing duties that reflect PSPC's dual role, i.e., as a common services organization that provides optional services on a cost-recovery basis, and as the central provider of office space.

*The federal government of Canada includes the home department, including client service teams, as well as other federal departments, agencies and Crown corporations.

Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established to staff AS-02 positions that are included in the Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program of Real Property Services within Public Services and Procurement Canada, with a bilingual imperative BBB/BBB profile and a reliability security status. Appointments may also be held in Ottawa,Ontario and have various language requirements and various security requirements.The developmental program consist in theoretical and on the job training components, this provides interns with the required skills they need to become AS-05 Real Property's professionals. Interns starts at the AS-02 group/level and works towards obtaining the AS-05 group/level upon completion of the program; given that interns meet the competency standards and have taken the theory courses required. Primary responsibility for learning and professional development rests with the intern. Please note that the linguistic profile mentioned applies only to the AS-02 level. Promotions at a higher level may require a linguistic profile bilingual imperative CBC/CBC.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field to the work to be performed such as business administration, concentration in real estate management and evaluation. (The education program needs to be completed by June 30, 2018)

This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test.
