EDUCATION:
AS-05/06; PM-05/06: A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EC-05/06: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.
CO-02/03: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in commerce, economics, natural resources management, public administration, environmental studies, economics, commerce, biology or other specialization relevant to the position, OR and acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE (ALL POSITIONS):
*NOTE - Please note that recent experience is required for PM-05/AS-05/EC-05/CO-02 applicants. Both recent and significant experience is required for PM-06/AS-06/EC-06/CO-03 applicants.
Recent is defined as at least one straight year within the last five years.
Recent and significant is defined as at least three straight years within the past five years.
• *Recent/significant experience in providing senior management with strategic advice and recommendations on complex and sensitive program or policy issues.
• *Recent/significant experience in leading complex consultations or collaboration initiatives with internal clients, other government departments and agencies, other levels of government, stakeholder organizations or Indigenous groups in the development or delivery of programs or services.
• *Recent/significant experience in developing, interpreting or implementing legislation, regulations, policies or procedures to meet regional or national requirements.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR EC (ECONOMIST) POSITIONS:
• *Recent/significant experience in developing, analysing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative information and socio-economic policies and recommendations.
EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, biology, resource management, social sciences or other science related field or other specialization relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in supervising and managing human and financial resources.
• Experience in managing projects and applying project management principles and best practices.
• Experience in the delivery of at least one of the following programs: Occupational Health and Safety; Security; or Emergency Management/Business Continuity Planning including leading audits or investigating security issues.
• Experience in economic analysis to assess the socioeconomic impacts of proposed public policy and regulatory decisions.
• Experience in managing marine and/or inland fisheries or aquaculture management.
• Experience in working with Indigenous groups in resource management, governance, or fisheries issues.
