The successful candidate will be responsible for their relocation expenses.
The intent of this process is to staff one GL-MDO-06 full-time position on an indeterminate basis in Churchill, Manitoba.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar indeterminate, specified period employment, acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployment.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. A secondary school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent (GED) diploma.
Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 3 driver’s licence, Authorized Instruction stage (beginner) as well as an Air Brake Endorsement, learner permit.
Experience in heavy and light equipment operations (such as operating a loader, skidder, grader, mobile crane, hydraulic excavator, crawler tractor or industrial tractor).
Possession of a CPR/First Aid Level 1 certificate (or equivalent).
Experience in performing repairs to roads, fences, signage, sewer and /or water systems (minimum 1 out of 4).
Experience in airport winter maintenance operations.
Experience in performing runway condition reporting.
Experience in runway friction measurement.
Experience in applying anti-icing and de-icing chemicals to pavement surfaces.
Experience in bird and wildlife control methods, techniques and procedures used at Airports.
Two years' experience in heavy and light equipment operations (such as operating a loader, skidder, grader, mobile crane, hydraulic excavator, crawler tractor or industrial tractor).

Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions.
Ability to evaluate operational condition of heavy equipment.
Reliability Status security clearance
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Churchill Airport Vehicle Operator’s permit.
Willingness and ability to successfully complete Transport Canada’s Airfield Maintenance Training Program.
Willingness and ability to successfully complete Transport Canada’s Bird & Wildlife Training Program and Runway Surface Condition Report Training Program.
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Radio Operator’s Restricted Certificate (Aeronautical).
Willingness and ability to work overtime, shift work, weekend and stand-by.
Willingness and ability to Travel for training and to offsite work locations may be required.
Successful completion of pre-employment medicals and periodic medical is required.
Candidates must meet the basic requirements to be eligible to obtain a firearms license.
