Preference may be given to candidates who are willing to work from the Waterloo office. If no candidate is selected for the Waterloo location, the position may be staffed in Toronto or Ottawa.
This is a bilingual position requiring a high level of proficiency in English and French.
In the Federal Public Service, Senior Management is referred to as the Executive group. This group is divided into five levels from EX-01 to EX-05. This advertisement is for a position at the EX-04 group and level.
A pool may be established and used for various appointment types and tenures (indeterminate, deployment, term, acting, secondment, assignment) within the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). All federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this staffing process to appoint a candidate to its organization in a similar position if a pool is created.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
Experience in managing significant financial and complex human resources matters
Experience in building, collaborating and maintaining partnerships
Significant experience at the executive level in providing authoritative advice and guidance to senior leaders on highly sensitive, multi-stakeholder issues
Experience in leading the development, management or implementation of large-scale or national strategies, programs or projects, in a senior leadership role
Experience in managing the delivery of economic development programs
Asset Qualifications:
Experience in managing the delivery of grants and contributions programs
Current or previous management experience within the federal, provincial or municipal government
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the trends and issues, including government priorities, relating to economic development, nationally and in Southern Ontario
