In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience working in a modern agricultural research environment.
Experience in the supervision of staff and managing work schedules.
Experience in preparing agricultural plots, planting, protecting, harvesting, grading and storing of crops.
Experience in the management, operation and maintenance of modern farm machinery.
Experience using Windows-Based software to enter and manage data, to maintain detailed records (such as training records, expenditure tracking, machinery use or maintenance records, land use records or some other kind of record relevant to managing a research farm); and to communicate via e-mail.
Experience providing verbal and written instructions to others describing how to carry out tasks related to field operations or experiments, such as treatment applications, sample labelling, and collecting and recording of experimental data.
Experience providing leadership to others and managing the performance (quality and/or quantity of work) of others formally and/or informally.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Post-Secondary education in agriculture, crop science, agriculture business management, or any other relevant program.

A valid New Brunswick Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate or the equivalent from another province.

Degree equivalency

Experience in the use of hand and power tools.
Experience in the operation of small plot equipment

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of Best Management Practices of crop productions such as crop planting, production, irrigation, harvesting and storing.
Knowledge of the safe use, calibration procedure and maintenance of farm equipment used for crop production.
Knowledge of the efficient and safe handling and application of fertilizer, plant protection agents and other chemicals utilized in crop production.

Ability to use a computer and a variety of related software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
