The intent of this process is to staff one (1) full time, indeterminate Security and Emergency Services Officer position in Sydney, NS. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, within the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, NS.

Education:
Graduation from an approved post-secondary institution in a field related to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
Experience:
Experience working in a field of security (physical or personnel).
Experience in implementing security protocols or procedures.
Experience in preparing and analyzing written reports.
Experience in preparing and analyzing data reports.
Experience in interpreting and providing advice to managers on legislation or departmental policies.
Experience in work planning and coordinating multiple projects at a time.
Asset - education:
Graduation from an approved post-secondary institution in a field of security management or security administration.
Asset - Experience:
Experience in developing a training or an awareness program.
Experience in delivering a training or an awareness program.
Experience in business continuity or emergency preparedness planning.
Experience conducting security inspections.
Experience in investigating security breaches and violations.
Experience administering a departmental security program (physical security or personnel security or security in contracting).
Supervisory experience.
