Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates to fill two position in Kingston and Toronto. The results of this process may also be used to staff same or similar future vacancies of various tenures and locations within Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) in the Ontario Region.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Or

Graduation with a degree in architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Foreign education credentials: You must have your foreign education credentials deemed comparable to Canadian standards by a recognized credential assessment service prior to the interview stage of the process

Degree equivalency

Recent* and significant** experience in the management*** of real property projects such as building construction/modifications, interior renovations, building systems upgrades, roadway construction, bridge construction/rehabilitation.

Recent* and significant** experience in the administration of real property project budgets and financial information.

Definitions:
* Recent experience is defined as experience attained within the last five (5) years from the closing date of this advertisement.
** Significant experience is defined as the complexity and diversity of work which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 5 years.
*** Management is defined as: The role of project manager or deputy project manager.

PMP certification
Licensed as Professional Engineer in Canada or as an Architect in Canada.

Experience in “Construction Management” approach as a construction project delivery method. (Construction Management, or CM, is a service that uses specialized, project management techniques to manage the planning, design, and construction of a project, from its beginning to its end).
Experience in laboratory construction projects.
Experience in new building construction.
Experience in office fit up projects.

Willingness and ability to work overtime.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Willingness and ability to enter construction sites.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
