- lead teams or strategic projects that involve stakeholders inside and outside LAC;
- provide strategic advice and interpretation to LAC senior managers, staff and clients on legislation, policy, strategies, and priorities related to development of published collections;
- initiate and lead complex research and analysis in the domain of collection development and prepare reports, position papers, and strategic documents for senior management.
- promote and represent LAC and establish and maintain relationships with national and international clients (e.g. partners, federal libraries, professional groups, etc.).
- negotiate with internal and external individuals, organizations and communities.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established from this process which may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles, security profiles and various tenures within Library and Archives Canada.

Graduation from a recognized university with a master’s degree in library science or in library and information science, or graduation from a recognized university with a bachelor’s degree in library science or in library and information science for which another bachelor’s degree was a prerequisite.
* Significant experience in managing complex projects in a library/information management setting.
* Significant experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management.
* Significant experience in committee work and in representing their employer with various stakeholders.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
