Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within Statistics Canada. These positions may be staffed with various tenures, various language requirements and various security requirements.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Common experience for all streams:
EX1: Recent experience* in analyzing clients' requirements and in providing advice.
EX2: Recent experience* in conducting quality control measures of new and modified web documents.
EX3: Experience working in a team environment and assisting other team members.

Experience for Stream 1:
EX4: Recent experience* in preparing HTML format documents for the purposes of electronic dissemination.

Experience for Stream 2:
EX5: Recent experience* in preparing PDF format documents for the purposes of electronic dissemination.

*Note: "Recent experience" is defined as a minimum of six (6) months experience acquired within the last two (2) years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

AEDU1:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position
AEDU2
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program in a field related to the position

Degree equivalency

Asset for Stream 1:
AEX1: Recent experience coding HTML documents using the Government of Canada Web Experience Toolkit (WET).
AEX2: Recent experience using Adobe Dreamweaver.
AEX3: Recent experience using adaptive screen reader software technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, Zoomtext, etc.
AEX4: Recent experience using web accessibility validation tools.

Asset for Stream 2:
AEX5: Recent experience in preparing online publications in PDF format using InDesign.
AEX6: Recent experience in creating charts in Microsoft Excel and/or Adobe Illustrator.

*Note: "Recent experience" is defined as a minimum of six (6) months experience acquired within the last two (2) years.

Common knowledge for all streams:
K1: Knowledge of internet and computer technologies.
Knowledge for Stream 1:
K2: Knowledge of HTML, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG2.0), Web Experience Toolkit (WET), and cascading style sheets (CSS).
Knowledge for Stream 2:
K3: Knowledge of publishing standards for formatting texts, tables, and preparing charts for online publications using Adobe InDesign Software.

A1: Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines.
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A3: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
A4: Ability to analyze client needs and propose solutions.
