The regional Atlantic office is located in Amherst, NS which is ideally located in Northern Nova Scotia, providing ready access to the three Maritime provinces.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory selection process and the intent of this process is for indeterminate and/or term appointments in Amherst, Nova Scotia, depending on the organizational needs.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions in Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) with various linguistic profiles, requirement as well as tenures and/or the security clearance, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

EDUCATION:

• A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

NOTE:

Acceptable experience and/or training in a field relevant to positions in the group is required when the education qualification specified for the position being staffed is a secondary school diploma or approved employer alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in providing general administrative services.
• Experience in providing information to clients and management.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• Completion of a post-secondary program in administration, business administration or a related field relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in scheduling and organizing travel arrangements, including preparing and/or verifying travel claims.
• Experience in data entry or data extraction using an automated system.

Cognitive Ability - Level 1

Applicants must complete the Unsupervised Internet Test of Cognitive Ability - Level 1 as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses general problem solving and reasoning ability. You will have 60 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.

Foreign educational credentials must be assessed by a recognized credential assessment service. If the candidate has been educated outside of Canada, it is the candidate's responsibility to have his or her certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian educational standards.
