Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff one English Essential indeterminate position in Yellowknife.

Please note that a pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at Environment and Climate Change Canada, with various tenures (Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Indeterminate, Deployment and extensions), various linguistic requirements and profiles.

EDUCATION

ED1. Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an acceptable equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1. Experience in providing administrative support* services to a Senior Manager.
EX2. Experience in maintaining tracking systems and data bases to control and monitor the flow of documentation and information.
EX3. Experience with various software packages such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
EX4. Experience in preparing correspondence in letter and email format.
EX5. Experience arranging travel and reviewing travel claims.

*Administrative support could include: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, tracking financial expenditures or other related duties.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE

AEX1. Experience in administration of procurement requests or processing contracts.
AEX2. Experience in handling confidential files and information.
AEX3. Experience in responding to or handling enquiries and correspondence with a computerized docket system.
AEX4. Experience working with SAP Financial system.
AEX5. Experience working with HRG Shared Travel Services system.

• Willing and able to travel for business requirements as needed on short notice.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s license.
• Willing and able to work overtime; and at times work weekends, statutory/provincial/territorial holidays and irregular hours.
• Pre-employment medical and periodic medical clearance.
