Work environment

Please note that the Defence Team members in the National Capital Region (NCR) have begun to relocate to the new National Defence Headquarters - Carling Campus in Ottawa’s west end. This organization, ADM(PA), will be part of phase 2 which is scheduled to move in the Spring of 2019. The Campus is a great new home with many benefits, from a beautiful setting and buildings designed to make maximum use of natural elements, to a full range of facilities, services and retail outlets. The design features of the Campus will enhance collaboration, innovation and efficiency, making our new home an ideal place for current and future employees.

This position will be located at 45 Boulevard Sacré-Coeur, Gatineau, Québec until the relocation to the National Defence Headquarters at Carling Campus in 2019.

Intent of the process

The results of this process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff current and future positions in ADM (Public Affairs).

Once ADM (Public Affairs) has made their initial appointments, other organizations within National Defence may use this pool to staff their vacancies in the National Capital Region (NCR).

EDUCATION

ED1: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1: Recent and extensive experience in providing strategic advice to senior management in a communications setting.

EX2: Recent and extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, products, and/or activities in a communications setting, in support of key organizational priorities.

EX3: Recent experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a communications setting.

DEFINITIONS:
- Recent: Experience acquired over the past two (2) years.
- Extensive: Having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over two (2) years or more.
- Senior Management: Management director and above.
- Communications Setting: The following communications fields: program/policy communications, marketing, web or social media, outreach or stakeholder relations, media relations, ministerial events, issues management, internal communications, public opinion research, or speech writing.
