Intent of the process

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, assignment, secondment), various security requirements and various language profiles. By default and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of collective staffing processes at ISED will be shared with other government departments.

EXPERIENCE
Stream 1 and 2:
- Significant * experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint).

*Significant experience will be evaluated against depth and breadth of activities, the level of responsibilities, and the complexity, diversity and volume of handled cases/tasks. This scope would be normally obtained through at least twelve (12) consecutive months experience.

- Experience providing and coordinating administrative services for at least one (1) year.

EXPERIENCE (ASSETS)
Stream 1 and 2:
- Experience in entering and updating salary forecasts as well as salary recovery coordination.

- Experience in entering, correcting, searching and manipulating information in a database.

- Experience in using the Government of Canada’s financial information systems, for example IFMS’ SAP and SFT (Salary Forecasting Tool).

- Experience in using the Government of Canada Shared Travel Services portal as a travel arranger.

- Experience supervising staff.

- Experience providing financial support, such as monitoring expenditures, making payments, and budget tracking.

- Experience in using a tracking system such as CCM Mercury or CCM Enterprise (PeopleSoft or MyGCHR).

- Experience in coordinating and tracking the flow of correspondence documents and provide quality assurance on materials for Senior Management (Director and up).

- Experience in providing guidance on operational processes or task assignments.

- Experience in providing administrative support services in one of the following areas in human resources: staffing, classification, learning, HR planning, employment equity, official languages, awards and recognition, performance management, labour relations, or conflict resolution.

- Recent* experience in providing support services in a fast-paced executive office, including at least two of the following:
• managing an agenda;
• planning and scheduling meetings/events/conferences and coordinating/preparing the necessary documentation; and
• making travel arrangements.

* Recent experience is defined as experience normally gained within the last two (2) years.

- Experience in liaising with various corporate offices such as HR, finance, IT services, security, and accommodations to coordinate office moves and relocations and for property and space management.

- Experience in preparing contracts and/or procuring goods and services.

- Experience in coordinating ATIP requests.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on the position to staff, operational requirements could apply such as:

- Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
