Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC position indeterminately.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles as well as various security clearances within the Canada Border Services Agency.

EDUCATION

- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

- Recent* and significant** experience providing scientific advice to senior officials and other client organizations.

- Significant** experience conducting analysis in a science laboratory. (e.g. analysis of illicit drugs, tobacco analysis, customs analysis, health products or food analysis for regulatory purposes).

- Experience building relationships with clients internal to the organization and experience building partnerships with others external to the organization.

- Recent* and significant** experience leading scientific teams.

- Recent* and significant** experience managing human, financial and material resources.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
*Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities which usually is acquired over a period of two (2) years.

EDUCATION

- Experience conducting analysis in a Laboratory accredited under ISO 17025 .
- Experience managing an analytical chemistry or regulatory laboratory in a client services environment.
- Experience conducting analysis in an analytical chemistry or regulatory laboratory in a client services environment.
- Experience conducting alcohol or tobacco analysis in a laboratory.
- Experience conducting contraband analysis in a laboratory.
- Experience conducting customs analysis in a laboratory.
- Experience conducting forensic document analysis in a laboratory.

Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
