You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential qualifications (i.e. Education, Experience and/or Occupational Certification) for the initial screening through your resume and in answering online screening questions.

It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples.

Not all work locations listed have current vacancies. This process will be used to fill future vacancies.

Please note that should you demonstrate an interest in multiple locations, you may be assessed at the Canadian Forces Base closest to your home residence. You will only be assessed once for this process and your results will be shared with other locations that you were interested in. Should no location be selected, you may be referred to the closest Canadian Forces Base to your home residence.

Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process.

Intent of the process

This inventory will be used for various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, assignment, secondment). Applicants who meet the essential qualifications will have their application included in the inventory for this ongoing selection process. As positions become available, the applicants meeting the initial screening requirements identified by the hiring manager may be contacted and referred for consideration. Please ensure that your information is updated and remains current in your PSRS Applicant Account.

Your application in this inventory will be active for 365 days. A notice that your application is about to expire will be posted to the My jobs menu of your account 20 days before the end of your active period. If you do not take action, your application will no longer be active and therefore no longer considered for this inventory. Should your application become inactive while the process is still open, a notice will be posted to your account indicating that your application has expired; you may select the link Update my Inventory Status to reaffirm your interest.

Information you must provide

Your résumé.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited university with a specialization in adult clinical psychology or equivalent (equivalence in training would be determined by the provincial registration/licensing body).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Significant* and recent** experience in psycho-diagnostic assessment services provided to adults, including differential diagnosis.
• Significant* and recent** experience in providing cognitive behavioural therapy.

* Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities in an adult mental health care environment which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 2 years.
** Recent is defined as within the last five years.

Information on language requirements

ABILITIES:
• Ability to provide evidence-based psycho-diagnostic and cognitive assessments.
• Ability to implement evidence-based therapeutic intervention including the ability to deliver and evaluate cognitive behavioural treatment interventions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work within an inter-disciplinary team model.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working with mental health patients with emphasis on PTSD/trauma.
• Experience in neuropsychology, rehabilitation or health psychology.
• Experience in couples and family therapy.
• Experience in providing group treatment interventions.

ABILITIES:
• Ability to deliver psycho-educational material and training.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• May require overtime on short notice.
• May require work at variable hours.
• Must be available for travel outside of the immediate area on short notice.

REGISTRATION:
• Registration for autonomous practice of psychology by a provincial or a territorial registering/ licensing body/ in the province of intended practice.
