This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, to establish a pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM) for similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, and acting).
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, they will not become a PS.

Successful completion of a Telecommunications Operator Training Program recognized by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) or possess an acceptable combination of training and/or experience.
Significant** experience as an Operational Communications Centre Operator 9-1-1 dispatcher.
Experience in the administration of a 9-1-1 emergency communications centre.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with approximately two years of experience.
Ability and willingness to work shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year).
Ability and willingness to travel and testify in court of law.
Ability and willingness to travel for mandatory operational training.
Ability and willingness to work on short notice and overtime to meet operational needs.
Ability and willingness to be exposed to emotionally charged clients and incidents which may be traumatic, violent and disturbing.
Ability and willingness to meet and maintain the medical profile standards established for the position.
Ability and willingness to work in a confined or restrictive workspace, wear a headset, and exposure to multiple computer screens, and noise disturbances for extended periods of time.

Top Secret security clearance - RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance.
Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. Positions filled will have security clearance requirements at the following levels: RCMP Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, and a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.
