Education:
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Master of Science degree in a natural, physical or applied science with acceptable specialization* in bioinformatics, computing science related to health sciences, genetics or molecular biology, or in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
*The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken in a recognized post-secondary institution but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experiences :
Experience working on research projects to perform metagenomics analysis, comparative genomics, transcriptome analysis, data analytics or bioinformatics.
Experience coding and developing new applications related to toxicogenomics or whole genome sequencing data.
Experience working in a LINUX, UNIX-like environment and with the most relevant LINUX-based open source bioinformatics tools.
NOTES FOR ALL EXPERIENCES :
“Experience” normally means experience gained during graduate studies or remunerated work for approximately two (2) years.
Asset Experiences :
Experience managing and administering high power computers or clusters.
Experience using Linux-based resource manager such as SLURM or Grid Engine.
Experience working with transcriptome datasets

Knowledge of various programming languages relevant to bioinformatics, including but not limited to, Perl, JAVA, PYTHON and R.
Knowledge of open source bioinformatics tools, including but not limited to, BWA, Mothur, SPAdes, Deseq2 and RAxML.
Knowledge of the following bioinformatics techniques: assembly, reference mapping, gene prediction and annotation.
Abilities :
