Work environment

The Department of Management and Economics of the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario invites applications for tenure-track positions at the level of assistant professor and associate professor.

The Royal Military College is a bilingual university offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the humanities, sciences and engineering to members of the Canadian Forces and civilians. The department offers undergraduate degrees and is a vital contributor to the War Studies graduate program, which grants degrees at the MA and PhD levels. Members of the department are currently involved in a wide range research in the fields of military, international, and social history, much of which is funded by national granting councils.

Kingston is a beautiful and historic city at the confluence of Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River and the Rideau Canal system, and is easily accessible from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Kingston offers a diverse array of local music, art, history, theatre and live entertainment that attracts thousands of tourists annually. Kingston has also been designated as a bilingual city by the Government of Ontario.

Intent of the process

The immediate need of this selection process is to fill one position on an indeterminate basis at the Royal Military College of Canada, a university within the Department of National Defence.

Education:

For UT-02 position:
* PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Management (specialization: Organizational Theory, Organizational Behavior, or Management of Information Systems).
* If PhD not completed at the time of application, applications must include an official letter from their recognized post-secondary institution indicating that there is an expectation that all PhD requirements will be successfully completed prior to December 31, 2018.

For UT-03 Position:
PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Management (specialization: Organizational Theory, Organizational Behavior, or Management of Information Systems).

Degree equivalency

Experience:

For UT-02 position:
E1 – Experience that would demonstrate evidence of teaching and scholarly potential.

For UT-03 position:
E2 - Experience that would demonstrate effective teaching over a period of time and demonstrate independent scholarly activity beyond the PhD program.

Experience:
AQ1 – Experience in supervision of student projects and theses.

AQ2 – Research papers published in refereed journals.

AQ3 –Experience presenting research findings at academic conferences.
