Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the Montreal office on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various bilingual linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology (IT) or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

1. Recent experience* in the analysis, design, programming and maintenance of computer applications using programming techniques and languages such as C#, C++, Javascript, PHP, Python or others
2. Recent experience* with database products such as Access and SQL Serve or another database

(Networking expert profile)
1. Recent experience* in an environment using data transfer protocols and data communications principles, including TCP/IP
2. Recent experience* with network communication equipment, such as firewalls, switches, routers and virtual private networks (VPN)

(Administrator profile)
1. Recent experience* in some of the following areas: analysis, design, planning, implementation and maintenance of Windows and/or Linux-based
client/server environments (including Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
2. Recent experience* in some of the following areas: analysis, planning, migration, implementation and maintenance of virtualized environments using VMware, Xen Server, etc.

(Technologist profile)
1. Recent experience* in some of the following areas: design, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment including circuit boards, control systems, antenna design, protection circuitry and status monitoring systems
2. Recent experience* in some of the following areas: analysis, design, planning, implementation, supervision (monitoring), maintenance and repair of radio-frequency equipment
3. Recent experience* in an environment using data transfer protocols and data communications principles, including TCP/IP
