Who can apply: Persons residing or employed in Vancouver, BC and within a 75 kilometer radius of Vancouver, BC, within Canadian territory, extending to, amongst others, Sidney, Brackendale, Abbotsford, BC.

Duties

By the end of the term, the student will prepare, in co-production with the project team:
- assessment ratings across a comprehensive database of research articles,
- draft text that concisely describes key research themes from the evidence, and
- draft text that describes a conceptual framework of research significance and needs.

Work environment

The student will be joining a multidisciplinary team of collaborators (author team) based in Canada and the United States that maintains regular communications by email and by conference phone calls. The student will report directly to the project lead, based out of the University of Washington (Seattle) and be assigned a supervisor with NRCan. The student could be based at any Canadian university in the Vancouver area.

Information on language requirements

Enrollment in a graduate program, with a specialization in Biological or Environmental Sciences, Public Health, Landscape Design, or Social Sciences from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

- Knowledge of research design and methods, preferably in social science or public health
- Interest or experience in urban forest issues
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Strong ability of written communication skills (English essential)

Conditions of employment
