ANTICIPATORY. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various language requirements and linguistic profiles, security requirements and/or tenures within Environment and Climate Change Canada in the National Capital Region.

Education:

FOR BOTH STREAMS:
ED1. A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

FOR BOTH STREAMS:
EX1. Extensive* experience in reviewing, compiling and validating data from various sources, such as paper documents and computerized databases.
EX2. Experience in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Internet Explorer (or other web browser) and MS Outlook (or other email program).
EX3. Experience in working with regulations and standard operating procedures.
EX4. Experience working with external clients or stakeholders.

*Extensive is defined for Stream 1 as a minimum of one year of relevant experience within the last five years for PM-01 positions.
*Extensive is defined for Stream 2 as a minimum of two years of relevant experience within the last five years for PM-02 positions.

EX5. Experience in data entry.

Knowledge:

FOR BOTH STREAMS:
K1. Knowledge of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) or the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation on International and Interprovincial Trade Act (WAPPRIITA)
K2. Knowledge of the Export and Import of Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Recyclable Material Regulations (EIHWHRMR) or the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

Abilities:

FOR BOTH STREAMS:
A1. Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
A2. Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A3. Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

FOR STREAM 1 (PM-01):
A4. Ability to enter data efficiently and accurately.

FOR STREAM 2 (PM-02):
A5. Ability to maintain a tracking system for requests originating from external clients and ensure that deadlines are adhered to.
