Under the supervision of a Research Scientist the duties will include:
Contributing to setting up the experimental plan, organize workflow to meet objectives. Growing plants in a controlled environment and trace plant materials from lab to greenhouse and to field. Collecting samples while preserving the integrity of analytes, performing plant physiology and molecular biology analyses, compiling and analyzing data. Regenerating plants in tissue culture under aseptic conditions. Working with Fusarium or other pulse crop pathogens and conducting greenhouse pathology experiments including inoculations and disease evaluation. Collecting quantitative data and qualitative information, documenting all findings and preparing of reports. Other related duties as required.

B.Sc. Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following fields: Plant Biology; Physiology; Genetics; Microbiology; Biochemistry or a related agricultural program OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Experience growing plants under controlled environments in a laboratory and greenhouse/growth chamber.
Experience collecting and performing analysis on plant samples related to physiology or biochemistry.
Experience analyzing large numbers of samples in high throughput manner and maintaining accuracy.
Experience in standard plant molecular biology or microbiology techniques.
M.Sc. Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following fields: Plant Biology; Microbiology; Biology; Biochemistry or a related agricultural program.
Experience in plant tissue culture.
Experience in plant pathology research in lab and greenhouse settings.
Experience in standard microbiological techniques.
