We strongly encourage candidates to submit their applications on-line.
Following are some of the benefits associated with applying on-line:
• Candidates can create and manage their accounts in the Public Service
Resourcing System (PSRS) and apply to job opportunities as long as an
internet connection is available.
• Candidates can create a profile and retrieve stored application(s) (personal information, covering letter and résumé) previously submitted and modify
them, if necessary, before submitting the application.
• Candidates can modify their application/resume at any time BEFORE the
closing date indicated on the job advertisement.
NOTE: Candidates must clearly demonstrate, by responding to the preselection
questionnaire, how they meet the education and experience factors listed in
the essential and asset qualifications.
You must provide clear and concrete EXAMPLES and DETAILS of how you meet
this requirement including WHEN, WHERE and HOW you obtained this
experience. It is recommended that you describe the examples in specific
terms, providing sufficient details so that the Assessment Board can clearly
understand the circumstances. Content of your response must be supported by
your CV/résumé. SHOULD YOU INDICATE IN YOUR RESPONSE "PLEASE REFER
TO CV/RÉSUMÉ" YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED. Lack of EXAMPLES
and DETAILS may result in your application being rejected as the Assessment
Board will have insufficient information to determine if the requirement is met.
*Various positions with different profile could be filled with this process. It is
not necessary for a candidate to have all the asset qualifications to be
appointed to a position. Asset qualifications could be used to determine the
best fit for a given position based on the profile.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established. This process may be used to
staff similar positions with various tenures, linguistic profiles and security clearance levels, within Library and Archives Canada.

“LAC’s Employment Equity Plan includes objectives for correcting the under-representation of designated groups under the Employment Equity Act (visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples, persons with a disability, women) within certain occupational groups. In the context of this selection process, employment equity may be used as an organizational need to fill one or more positions by a qualified person who is a member of a designated group. Accordingly, if you are a member of one of these designated groups and you wish to be considered for placement using the employment equity criterion, you must ensure you self-identify for this purpose at the time of application.”
The Public Service of Canada is committed to building a skilled, diverse workforce reflective of Canadian society. As a result, it promotes employment equity and encourages candidates to indicate voluntarily on their application if they are a woman, an Aboriginal person, a person with a disability or a member of a visible minority group.
The Public Service of Canada is also committed to developing inclusive, barrier-free selection processes and work environments. If contacted in relation to a job opportunity or testing, you should advise the Public Service Commission or the departmental official in a timely fashion of the accommodation measures which must be taken to enable you to be assessed in a fair and equitable manner. Information received relating to accommodation measures will be addressed confidentially.
