Intent of the process

The position will be staffed for a specified period. The start date will be April 3rd, 2018 until March 29, 2019. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates resulting from this selection process may be created and may be used to fill the same or similar positions within the Canadian Conservation Institute.

EDUCATION:

The applicant must have recently* completed a university degree or a minimum two (2) year college diploma from a recognized** post-secondary institution in a museum studies program.

* Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.

** A "recognized" post-secondary institution is one that has provincial or territorial degree/diploma-granting status, or a university/college outside Canada of which the programs/degrees are accepted by a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in conducting research on museum-related subjects.

Experience in working or volunteering in a museum or other heritage institution.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

English or French

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of the development of e-learning content.

Knowledge of principles relating to educational materials.

Knowledge of museology and the museum community.

ABILITIES:

Ability to design and develop training products.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Ability to efficiently establish priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Ability to work within a team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

A degree from a recognized university or college with a specialization or experience in andragogy or educational studies.

Degree equivalency

Experience in using various technologies including video conferencing and Web conferencing to support learning activities.

Experience in using functions of Articulate Storyline to produce a variety of products such as: e-learning and video production.

Experience in creating e-learning content using online development tools.

Experience in collaborating with subject-matter experts on collaborative projects.

Knowledge of theories and principles of andragogy.
