The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position and create a pool of essentially qualified candidates of various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, assignment, secondment) within Transport Canada, Quebec Region, Dorval Regional office.

EDUCATION
• A post-secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
EXPERIENCE
• Recent and Significant** experience in delivering, monitoring, and evaluating emergency management programs or projects and making recommendations on delivery aspects of these programs or projects to Senior Management.
• Recent and Significant** experience in the development or review of emergency or incident response plans.
• Experience in the coordination, delivery or evaluation of emergency management training or emergency exercises.
• Experience working within an Emergency Coordination Centre (or Emergency Operations Centre) or at an Incident Command Post.
• Recent and Significant** experience in leading or participating in internal and external multidisciplinary committees or working groups relative to emergency management.
• Experience contributing to resource planning and management (Human and Financial resources).
**Recent and significant is determined by the depth and breadth of experience, typically defined as a minimum of three years in the last five years.

• Knowledge of key legislative and policy frameworks regarding emergency management in Canada (such as the Emergency Management Act, the Federal Emergency Response Plan, the National Emergency Response System, and the Emergency Management Framework for Canada).

ABILITIES

ASSET- EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
• Successful completion of post-secondary degree from a recognized educational institution in a relevant field of study.
• Completion of emergency management related training, courses (for example, Emergency Operations Centre training, business continuity planning, etc.) or a certificate in emergency management.
• Successful completion of advanced Incident Command System (ICS) training including I-300, I-400, and/or any ICS position-specific training.
ASSET - EXPERIENCE
• Experience in emergency management in a government context.
• Experience supervising or managing human resources, including performance management.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Required to work overtime on short notice.
• Required to travel to remote locations by various modes.
• Required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence
