Work environment

Please be advised that these positions are located at 73 Leikin Drive, Barrhaven (Ottawa), Ontario.

Intent of the process

A pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP on an indeterminate or term basis, with various linguistic profiles, various locations and RCMP Top Secret security clearance.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Education:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.

* Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Experience conducting research, presenting analytical results in written reports and providing guidance or recommendations to decision makers within a professional and/or post-secondary environment.
Experience in developing or applying analytical techniques or qualitative/ quantitative methodology to advance a project.
Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners/stakeholders.

Education - Asset Qualifications:

A Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics or discipline related to the position such as political science, international relations, philosophy, and geography.

Experience in preparing and presenting informational material for decision makers within a professional and/or post-secondary environment;
Experience working in the financial services industry or training in banking, finance or financial risk management;
Experience or training conducting open source research and collection through the use of social media tools and other tradecraft.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
