The main responsibilities of a dissemination officer are:
• Respond to entry-level inquiries and redirect more complex issues to the appropriate focal points.
• Help the public navigate our website to find different Statistics Canada products and services.
• Reset the passwords of our respondents.
• Validate the legitimacy of a survey or an interviewer.

We are located in the East tower of the Guy Favreau Complex, at 200 René-Lévesque Blvd. West, in Montreal.
We intend to staff positions for a duration of 12 months with a possibility of extension. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and could be used to staff similar positions for various durations within the Montreal office.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience in transmitting information to a variety of different types of clients, guiding them and responding to their requests.
Experience in using Internet Explorer and various software packages, like Microsoft Office or other word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Two years of postsecondary studies completed with a specialization in Social sciences (1) or Statistics.
(1) “Social sciences” include economics, political science, sociology, accounting, commerce, business administration, anthropology, demography, history, psychology, geography, criminology, agriculture, environmental studies and other disciplines associated with the social sciences. “Library/archival work” includes gallery- and museum-type functions.
Work experience in data dissemination and/or collection in a statistical environment
Recent and significant (2) work experience in a call centre environment.
(2) Recent and significant experience is defined as experience acquired during a period of one year full-time over the past three years
Experience in help desk practices and procedures.
Experience in techniques of software troubleshooting.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of client service techniques used in a call centre environment

You must be available and willing to work any shift between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. (Eastern time) from Monday to Friday.
