Work environment

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is looking for Clinical Psychologists to join its Occupational Health and Safety Services' multi disciplinary teams across the country to provide timely psychological assessments, referral services and crisis intervention to the dedicated Police Officers-Regular Members. The RCMP offers a dynamic work environment which is supportive of its employees and provides opportunities for continued learning and growth.

Intent of the process

A pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions across Canada within the RCMP on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various unilingual and/or bilingual linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a master's and/or PhD degree from a recognized university with specialization in clinical adult psychology, forensic psychology or in another psychological speciality relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATONAL CERTIFICATION:
Registration for autonomous practice of psychology by a province or territorial registering/licensing body in Canada.

EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience in the provision of psychological services such as personality assessments, differential diagnosis or other psychological services, with adults.
EX2: Experience in liaising with external mental health providers and specialists.
EX3: Experience in working in a multidisciplinary team approach in an occupational health context.
EX4: Experience in providing psychoeducational sessions (such as psychological first aid).

A1: Ability to provide psychological services (including mental health services), such as assessment, treatment, programs and crisis intervention, with an adult population.

Graduation with a PhD degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in clinical adult psychology or forensic psychological.

Conditions of employment

-Registration for autonomous practice of psychology by a province or territorial registering/licensing body in Canada.
-Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance throughout their employment. Depending on the position requirements, the security clearance requirement will be at one of the following RCMP levels: Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret
