EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Member in good standing of the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada.

EXPERIENCE:

*Extensive experience in the conduct of criminal litigation**;

*Extensive experience providing strategic legal advice in the area of criminal law;

Experience in coaching staff and actively participating in knowledge sharing.

*Extensive is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex related activities which would normally be gained within approximately 10 years.

**Experience in the conduct of criminal litigation is normally associated with having appeared as Counsel in Court for multiple criminal litigation files.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

*Significant experience litigating as a criminal defence lawyer.

Experience in the provision of strategic legal advice and briefing to senior government officials.

Experience leading Appellate litigation.

Experience in supervision.**

Experience in engaging with criminal justice system stakeholders.

*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various criminal defence litigation related activities which would normally be gained within approximately 5 years.

**Applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have supervised employees including the assignment of work and the provision of feedback.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Remain a member in good standing of the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada.
