Duties

As a Surveyor, you will support the office in the provision of professional surveying advice and technical expertise to a variety of government clients and you will support in the assistance of surveying professionals and the public on all aspects of the Canada lands Survey System. You will work as part of a team to conduct field surveys and prepare survey requirements for contracting of legal surveys. You will work as part of a team to resolve complex boundary and land tenure issues. You will support the office in the review of survey returns from other professionals to ensure compliance with survey standards and tenure documents.

Information on language requirements

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice or other related field such as geomatics, geodetic sciences or remote sensing. Degree must be obtained by June 30, 2018;

OR

A Canada Lands Surveyor's commission AND licence to practice issued by the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors;

OR

A licence or authority to practice as a land surveyor in any province in Canada.

Degree equivalency

Knowledge of the theories and principles of cadastral surveying.
Knowledge of property (land) rights.
Knowledge of GNSS technology and its application to surveying.

Ability to assess survey information.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
