The initial intent of this process is to staff one vacant, CBC / CBC bilingual Imperative position.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates resulting from this process will be established to fill similar positions with various tenures (temporary or permanent) within the Department of Justice Canada. Other government departments listed in schedules I and IV of the Financial Administration Act may use this pool to staff their needs in staffing across Canada.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION :
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics, or another specialty relevant to the position
AND
A recognized professional designation: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
EXPERIENCE:
Significant* experience in the planning, organizing, and conduct of internal audit projects as an Internal Audit Project Leader or Internal Audit Team Leader and/or Audit Manager;
Experience in presenting and defending audit findings;
Experience in providing advice and making recommendations to senior management**;
Experience in leading multi-disciplinary audits and audit teams comprised of Internal Auditors.
*Significant experience is defined as experience that would normally be acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties are a CORE function for the last three (3) years.
**Senior management is considered at the Director-General or senior executive level.
EDUCATION:
Master’s degree from a recognized university with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or some other specialty relevant to the position.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Holds a Certified Internal Auditor designation.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Audit Control Language (ACL) software.
KNOWLEDGE:
Information Management/Information Technology skills in support of Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAAT’S) and/or continuous auditing.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the Treasury Board Internal Audit Policy and Directive, and Internal Auditing Standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors;
Knowledge of Project Management tools and techniques;
Knowledge of the internal audit profession’s recent trends or direction.
ABILITIES:
Ability to present and defend internal audit findings;
Ability to prepare briefing notes;
Ability to communicate effectively in writing;
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
