Work environment

As a Program and Service Delivery Clerk, you will have the opportunity to provide service delivery administrative functions and communicate with clients to obtain required information. You will be responsible for various duties, which may vary based on the program area and location of the position. You will use your ability to validate and analyze data for accuracy and to carry out fact finding activities to research information in order to determine entitlement. You will identify, prepare and refer complex cases

Other Duties may include:

Applying established procedures and guidelines related to the validation of information for both administration and program delivery.

Obtaining, inputting, maintaining and extracting data and documentation related to applications, claims, invoices, requisitions and other administrative forms.

Making payment or administrative decisions related to computer generated data on straight forward/non-complex applications that are complete and in compliance with the established criteria, procedures, guidelines and system authorities (e.g. adjudication of clerical audits to determine overpayment).

Referring cases, as per clearly established procedures and guidelines, to the appropriate level for decision.

Coordinating logistics for meetings/sessions, or committees (e.g. scheduling location, participants and follow-up).

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established for positions in the Ontario Region.

The pool may be used to staff similar positions within Employment and Social Development Canada, Service Canada, Ontario Region. It is essential that applicants specify which location/locations they are interested in. Applicants are encouraged to indicate ONLY the locations they are able to relocate or commute to from the locations listed below. (See "Other information" section regarding travel costs.)

Candidates who have been selected and accept a casual or term appointment will not be referred for subsequent casual or term opportunities until their current appointment ceases. They will however, remain in the pool until it expires or until they receive and accept an indeterminate offer from that process.

Occupancy at the Richmond Hill location is anticipated as early as June 2018. If you are made an offer of employment before this occurs, you may be required to work at an alternate location within the Greater Toronto Area for a temporary period of time.

A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the General Intelligence Test 320 (PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma).

Note: Successful completion of a two-year college diploma program or a university degree from a recognized institution will be accepted as meeting the education requirements for this position.

ASSESSMENT

A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. BILINGUAL IMPERATIVE POSITION

To be considered for a Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC position, you must already have Second Language Evaluation results at the CBC/CBC level (proof will be required) OR you must be willing to undergo a Second Language Evaluation.
