Intent of the process

This process is to staff positions for casual (90 days), term or indeterminate staffing. A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions in CORCAN.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
High school diploma or employer-approved equivalent. The employer-approved high school diploma equivalent is a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission's test, approved as an equivalent to the high school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Significant (2yrs) and recent experience(1yr) in supervising a work team;
• Significant (2yrs) ensuring quality of customer service;
• Significant (2yrs) handling changes within the environment of work.
• Experience using a standard computer.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Qualifications:

• Experience in shipping and receiving.
• Work experience in a correctional environment.
• At least 6 months of experience as a laundry worker.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge
1. Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
2. Knowledge of the occupational health and safety standards (section I to V of part XIV "Materials Handling" of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations).
