Business Risk Management Programs Directorate is a high performing work unit where the successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of experiences on multiple priority files covering the breadth and depth of Business Risk Management programming and policy.
The successful candidate will be curious, looking to learn about BRM programs and not afraid to ask questions. The successful candidate needs to be able to integrate information from multiple sources to form a comprehensive perspective and communicate effectively the results to different audiences. The successful candidate will be able to tackle complex issues, recommend new solutions or approaches to on-going challenges and be able to elicit collaboration.
The successful candidate will join a team of dynamic and motivated individuals. Depending on the successful candidate profile and career development aspirations, experience can be gained in federal/provincial/territorial relations; program design, implementation and delivery; strategic policy; industry relations and liaisons; briefing of senior levels, report writing, data analysis, and in many other areas.

Immediate need: To staff one position on a full-time permanent basis for the location indicated for this process.
Anticipatory: A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent full-time or part-time basis or on a temporary full-time or part-time basis.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, or statistics. The specialization may be attained through the degree program, or a combination of education and work experience.
Experience in conducting analysis of strategic economic or business-oriented issues and presenting options and recommendations to support senior management decision-making.
Recent* and significant** experience in preparing written reports, presentations or other written briefing material for senior management.
Recent* experience working with analytical tools, techniques and/or methodologies used in data analysis.
Experience in managing conflicting priorities across various concurrent responsibilities, and producing results under tight timelines.
Experience in working with agriculture sector stakeholders such as producers, government or industry/non-profit organizations.
Experience in financial analysis or accounting.
* Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last three (3) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through performance of these duties on a full-time basis for a period of at least three (3) years within the last five (5) years.

Master’s degree from a recognized post secondary institution with specialization in economics, agricultural economics, business, or public administration.
Recent* and significant** experience in working with agriculture sector stakeholders including at least three of the following: industry/producers, federal government departments/agencies, provincial government departments, industry or not-for-profit organizations, or national or international organizations.
Recent* and significant** experience in financial analysis or accounting, with an emphasis on risk management, or analysis of financial statements for the purposes of assessing program benefits.
* Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last three (3) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through performance of these duties on a full-time basis for a period of at least three (3) years within the last five (5) years.
Knowledge of performance measurement and/or evaluation approaches.
Knowledge of the objectives and operation of Agriculture Business Risk Management programs in Canada.
Knowledge of current issues and priorities as they relate to Agriculture.
