Intent of the process

This process is to staff the position of Coordinator, Major Events and Visits, and it could also be used to establish a pool of candidates to staff similar positions from various linguistic profiles and security levels on an indeterminate or temporary basis within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience analysing requirements, developing plans, organizing and overseeing the execution of events, conferences, and/or travel plans for senior executives in Canada or abroad.

Experience managing human and financial resources, including supervising and leading project teams.

Experience preparing various reports, presentations and conducting briefings with senior officials (Director level or above) and/or client organizations.

Experience providing advice and recommendations to senior officials (Director level or above) on a variety of topics.

Experience establishing and maintaining strategic working relationships and partnerships.

EXPERIENCE:

Recent* and/or significant** experience managing (planning, organizing, and implementing) events, conferences, and/or visits in Canada or abroad for Heads of Government, Heads of State, Members of Cabinet or Heads of International Organizations.

*Recent experience is defined as within the past three (3) years.

**Significant is defined as experience associated with having performed a range of related activities which could typically be acquired over a period of three (3) or more years.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of a foreign language.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Willingness to work extensive overtime.

Willingness to travel, often for extended periods of time and/or on short notice.

Ability and willingness to lift objects (suitcases, boxes) and to stand for long periods of time.
