Intent of the process

Two year term position with possibility of indeterminate position.

A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within Elections Canada with various tenures (indeterminate, specified periods) and with various linguistic profiles.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education :

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in communications, journalism, public relations, public administration, marketing or other specialty relevant to the position.

At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Based on their education, training and/or experience, indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IS classification are deemed to meet the minimum educational standard whenever a bachelor’s degree without specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.

Degree equivalency

Experiences:

Experience developing and implementing any of the following communications products aimed at targeted audiences: paid advertising, public notices, posters, videos, fact sheets, social media posts, infographics, presentations, brochures, direct mail pieces, etc.

Recent* experience developing and implementing communications/marketing strategies, approaches or plans.

Experience providing strategic advice to internal clients, stakeholders and senior management, in at least one of the following areas: marketing, creative or production services or video production.

Experience leading or coordinating horizontal projects involving many players.

*Recent is defined as having acquired the experience within the last three (3) years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experiences:

Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including creative agencies.

Experience managing a multi-million dollar budget.

Experience planning, developing or implementing marketing activities such as: direct mail, paid advertising, social media posts, events, or partnership agreements.

Experience in overseeing the production of videos, through planning, storyboarding, writing, directing or post-production.

Must be available to work holidays and weekends during federal electoral events.

Must be willing to work overtime during federal electoral events or as needed.
