The Analyst, Analytics is responsible for deriving insights from data and driving recommendations using those insights. More specifically, the Analyst will use a suite of business analytics tools, experience and knowledge to analyze, aggregate and mine large volumes of data from multiple data sources to inform decision making.

The position is with the Business Enabling, Transformation and Analytics (BETA) sector, within the Pay Administration Branch (PAB) of Public Services and Procurement Canada. This new team monitors the development and progress of pay related projects, is accountable for the branch oversight of corporate files and support PAB with analytics and costing functions.
The intent of this appointment process is to staff six (6) indeterminate positions at English or French essential or Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB and CBC/CBC level with a Reliabity Status or Secret clearance. However, a pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions (such as Indeterminate, Assignments, Secondments, Specific Periods and Acting Assignments with various language requirements (English or French Essential, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB and CBC/CBC) and various security requirements (Reliability and Secret) within Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Pay Administration Branch, PSPC Human Resources Branch and PSPC Pay Stabilization Project Group.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1- Experience in organizing and delivering presentations or briefings to various Stakeholders;
EX2 - Experience in developing and fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders and partners;
EX3 - Experience in aggregating and analyzing large volumes of information (ex: datasets greater than 30k) and recommending a course of action and reporting on results;
EX4 - Recent* and significant** experience using MS Excel (including advanced functions such as Macros, pivot tables, etc.) and/or MS Access, Cognos tools, R, SAS, Tableau, MS PowerBI or other statistical software to analyze aggregate large volumes of data.
* Recent is defined as activities performed within the last 3 years
** Significant is defined as depth and breadth normally associated with having performed a broad range of activities related to the experience on a regular basis

K1 - Knowledge of the theories, principles, and concepts of business and socio-economic research to carry out research assignment and projects;
